- We work based on materials and we and Poasana have a common view of wool's enormous potential, which makes the collaboration very fun and developing. Something interesting arises when a genuine interest in art is combined with Poasana's knowledge of sound health, says artist Karin Auran Frankenstein.
- Working with materials that do not burden the planet, justifies our work. The functional aspect of the wool becomes fuel for us in the creative process with the soundboards. Organic, geometric, fleshy and strict are words that could represent our artistic expression, says Tomas Auran.
With a shared interest in craftsmanship and materiality, the duo Auran/Frankenstein works sculpturally, spatially and often with a functionality in their works. With a particular interest in the transformative potential of the materials and the displacements it generates, they take on forgotten, rejected materials, methods and stories and in their works touch on issues that concern class, the organization of society and the earth as matter and place. The duo lives in Malmö and shares a studio/workshop at Bragegatan 15 in Seved. www.karinfrankenstein.se
